Whoever is selected by the Washington Redskins with their first-round pick on Thursday, April 30 will be sporting a very unique lid.
Unlike the three options from 2014, there will be just one primary hat marketed as the draft day cap by New Era when the picks walk across the stage in Chicago.
The latest Redskins hat features a reflective logo on the front and the Washington, D.C. skyline under the bill. The Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and the Capitol building are the skyline’s primary features.

Former Washington Redskins defensive lineman Stephen Bowen has signed with the New York Jets.
(more…)The Washington Redskins opened up the 2014 season with a new head coach and a new outlook on offense, defense and special teams. That said, it was uncertain what to expect heading into their first game of the year.
Fresh off a new six-year, $100 million contract all eyes were on Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, and for good reason. The fourth-year, two-time Pro Bowler played a big role in Houston’s 17-6 victory. His strong defensive effort included three tackles, five quarterback hits, one pass defended, a blocked extra point and fumble recovery.
Here are some of the positives and negatives the Redskins can take away from today’s game:

Day two of 2014 Redskins training camp went on with perfect weather and attendance from head coach Jay Gruden’s brother Jon and father Jim as well as Joe Theismann.

The Redskins kicked off their second year of training camp in Richmond on Thursday morning during what started out as very a rainy practice.

The Redskins are set at most positions and bolstered several spots such as wide receiver, reserve inside linebacker, and special teams coverage in the offseason. But like every other team in the NFL, not every position is set, leaving battles looming as training camp arrives.
Here are my top five battles to watch during training camp and the team’s four preseason games over the next month and a half.
