The Redskins continue to overhaul their defensive line. This time it comes in the form of a departure.
Former Redskins defensive end Jarvis Jenkins has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
Jenkins is the fifth unrestricted free agent to depart the Redskins so far this offseason. The Redskins lost linebacker Brian Orakpo to the Tennessee Titans, running back Roy Helu Jr. to the Oakland Raiders, wide receiver Leonard Hankerson to the Atlanta Falcons and safety Ryan Clark to retirement.
The former second-round pick was the talk of training camp as a rookie in 2011 but did not live up to the potential he showed before he tore his ACL during his third preseason game in Baltimore. In 2014, he played in 16 games and made 28 tackles.
