The Redskins continued to add to their secondary, inking former Seattle Seahawks safety Jeron Johnson to a two-year, $4 million deal on Monday.
The 26-year-old confirmed his signing Monday afternoon.
Johnson, who is known mostly for his special teams acumen, is highly regarded for his talent as a safety.
He was not able to crack a starting lineup consisting of Pro Bowlers Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor while in Seattle but will get a chance to start at strong safety.
