Just 29 seconds into the United States’ first World Cup match of the year, Clint Dempsey fired the opening salvo, putting the U.S. up 1-0 over Ghana. However, in the 82nd minute, Andre Ayew tied the game 1-1, leaving American soccer fans a nervous wreck. Four minutes later, former Maryland Terrapin Graham Zusi delivered a corner kick that was headed in by John Brooks and sent America into a frenzy.
